riaz-kananiI am a mix of marketer, technologist and entrepreneur who has been lucky to work with cutting edge technologies throughout my career, whether it be the nascent flash/java video space in the early 2000s to combining email, mobile and social media marketing technologies in 2008. Throughout it all, I’ve used data as the backbone behind these technologies to better understand how people behave and use these new approaches.

Today, I am building Radiate B2B. B2B marketers have spent the past decade rolling out the approaches defined by Silverpop (now IBM), Eloqua (now Oracle) and Marketo and with good reason as the marketing automation led approach yielded phenomenal results. But as is always the case in marketing, once something becomes the norm, performance dips.

Scaling account based marketing beyond your top accounts is now achievable thanks to new advances in technology is set to become the new way to deliver successful B2B marketing. Radiate B2B shows you how to approach and successfully implement this strategy.

I also currently chair the Cass Entrepreneur’s Network – a network of alumni and students from Cass Business School engaged or interested in entrepreneurship.

I have spent the last decade in marketing and operational roles helping fast growth companies expand internationally. These include COO at Profusion, where the company was transformed into a leading data science consultancy, Global Alliances Director at Lyris building relationships across Europe and Asia and Marketing Director at Alchemy Worx and Silverpop (now IBM), where I was also International Services Director.

The previous decade was spent building my own startups, where I founded Digital Oxygen, the digital marketing agency that translated sophisticated offline direct marketing techniques to email marketing. Digital Oxygen was later acquired by Silverpop (and in turn has now been acquired by IBM).

Prior to this, I founded First Media, the pioneer of online video advertising and as CTO, I managed the technology and services groups, delivering integrated enterprise marketing solutions and global video marketing campaigns.

I enjoy debating the merits of marketing, tech and data – so I obviously tweet – you can follow me here and I regularly speak at events on digital marketing, entrepreneurship and upcoming trends. I write a weekly newsletter on marketing, business and new trends which you can subscribe to here as well as writing articles regularly on Medium.
